Right on schedule, ALIEN Studio’s wheelchair-bound VR horror game Deadness has now been released onto Steam, and is also available on Viveport. And as is the norm, ALIEN Studio has released a new launch trailer for the game.
In case you missed us talking about Deadness a few weeks back, the game sees you confined to a wheelchair in an old research facility, with no memory of how you got into the facility, or even where the facility is located. The only thing you know is that you’ve got zombies roaming the facility, and you’ve got to escape.
Since you’re stuck in a wheelchair unable to directly fight the zombies, you’ll have to make use of your hands to push your wheelchair around. ALIEN Studio claims that they’ve worked to get this mechanic down correctly, which adds to the “utterly helpless” feeling you’ll be experiencing throughout your play.
Besides having to make your way across rickety planks covering holes in the floor, past swinging corpses and other unpleasant sights, you’ll also have to play it smart with the zombies. Keep out of their line of sight, and find ways to distract them. Also, pay attention to the audiotapes scattered around the facility, as they’ll clue you in as to just what went on.
