The second season of Showtime’s “Yellowjackets” will premiere on March 24, 2023 – with a third season already ordered – and Variety reports that three new faces have joined the cast.
François Arnaud (“Midnight Texas,” pictured above), Nicole Maines (Bit, Darby and the Dead), and Nia Sondaya (“Truth Be Told”) have been added in recurring roles.
Arnaud will guest star in four episodes as Paul, described as “a New York writer and secret boyfriend of Coach Scott (Steven Kreuger) who reminds Coach Scott of what might have been.”
Maines will play Lisa, an associate of Adult Lottie (Simone Kissell), who is trying to recover from past trauma. Sondaya is set to take over the role of teen Akilah, with Keeya King exiting the series.
The series was created by Ashley Lyle & Bart Nickerson (“Narcos”), described as being “equal parts survival epic, psychological horror story and coming-of-age drama.”
“Yellowjackets is the saga of a team of wildly talented high school girls soccer players who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness. The series chronicles their descent from a complicated but thriving team to savage clans, while also tracking the lives they’ve attempted to piece back together nearly 25 years later, proving that the past is never really past and what began out in the wilderness is far from over.”
Recently announced, Lauren Ambrose (“Servant”) is playing adult Van in Season 2. And Simone Kessell (“Obi-Wan”) is playing the adult version of Lottie.
Elijah Wood will play Walter in Season 2, a dedicated citizen detective who will challenge Misty (Christina Ricci) in ways she won’t see coming.
Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Christina Ricci, and Juliette Lewis star.
