Ahead of “Yellowjackets” Season 2 on March 24, 2023, Deadline reports this afternoon that Showtime is wasting no time and has already given a Season 3 renewal to the hit series.
“With Yellowjackets’ runaway success in season one and the pent-up anticipation for season two, we wanted to maximize the momentum by fast tracking season three now,” said Chris McCarthy, President/CEO, Showtime and Paramount Media Networks. “The show’s ambition is only exceeded by its execution, and I thank the incredible creative team behind it, including Ashley, Bart, Jonathan, eOne and the Showtime team, for turning this into such a success.”
The early renewal “demonstrates our strong commitment to the show and its ability to continue to grow as well as how it fits clearly within a Showtime brand,” McCarthy added.
According to the site, a writers room is already being established for “Yellowjackets” Season 3.
The series was created by Ashley Lyle & Bart Nickerson (“Narcos”), described as being “equal parts survival epic, psychological horror story and coming-of-age drama.”
Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Christina Ricci, and Juliette Lewis star.
